It’s the holiday season once again, and that means it’s time to tell the story of the jolly red-clad gift-giver himself, Santa Claus! Set in the old town of Sombertown, “Santa Claus Is Comin’ To Town” gives us a peak at ol’ Kris Kringle’s humble beginnings. A humble toymaker and his family work to bring Christmas joy to the children of Sombertown, against the will of their miserly fun-hating mayor, Burgermeister Meisterburger. With the help of a motley crew of misfits, Kris works to spread holiday cheer to everyone.
“Santa Claus Is Comin’ To Town” is one of my favorite Christmas movies of all time. A classic story done up in wonderful stop-motion, the story itself is cheerful and the music is extremely fun and catchy (I still catch myself singing “Put One Foot In Front Of The Other” even in the summer time!) A great family-friendly Christmas film, “Santa Claus Is Comin’ To Town” is a wonderful watch every year and is definitely something to flip on during those snowy New England nights.
