May is Mental Health Awareness Month and to help with teen mental health and calming minds, we will be offering virtual meditation classes with Amy Rutledge every Thursday afternoon at 4:30! Each week will feature a different meditation technique. See the class descriptions below and register by clicking the button.
This week you will learn a breathing technique to relax and release stress and anxiety followed by a creative visualization meditation called calm space that you can use to come back to whenever you are feeling anxious, overwhelmed, or stressed. This meditation helps cultivate relaxation, peace, and wellbeing.
This week you will learn Tapping/ EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) a powerful stress relief technique that offers an opportunity to self-soothe and regulate emotions. When certain energy points are stimulated, it reduces heart rate and shuts off the fight or flight response. Followed by a gratitude meditation to release stress, negative thought patterns and cultivate more positive ways of thinking about ourselves, our bodies, and our lives!
This week you will practice the humming bee breath to release stress and calm the nervous system followed by mindfulness meditation that helps cultivate loving non-judgmental awareness of our life experiences and tools to anchor ourselves into the present moment.
This week will feature a sound healing bath. Lie down, relax, and enjoy the vibrations and sounds of crystal sound bowls and chimes. This sound meditation journey creates a soothing effect throughout the entire body that can help relax, distress, and help with sleep!
