After a PR disaster, Coal Claus, Christmas prince and next in line to takeover as Santa, is called home to the North Pole to perform his holiday duties and rehab his image. His father also lets him know that he is to wed Iris, the Easter Princess and his childhood best friend. Word of this engagement gets out and the other holiday families aren’t pleased, especially Halloween. It is decided that Prince Hex of Halloween is to get the chance to woo Iris and she will make a decision between the two.
Much to Coal’s surprise, Hex turns out to the be the sexy stranger he made out with in an alley behind a bar. Coal is now taxed with juggling his princely duties, vying for the hand of his best friend in an unwanted marriage, and fighting his growing feelings for Hex.
This was a really fun read and it was interesting to see how all the holidays operate as royal families. The main characters are likeable and humorous. If you’re looking for a light, romantic Christmas read this season this should fit the bill! I have yet to read the sequel about Coal’s brother, but I’m looking forward to it!
