Women’s History Month with HPL!

Women’s History Month is celebrated in the United States each month. It began as Women’s History Week, which was first celebrated in 1982, and expanded to the entire month of March in 1987. Women’s History Month “celebrate[s] the contributions women have made to the United States and recognize[s] the specific achievements women have made over the course of American history in a variety of fields.”

The library currently has a nonfiction display up on the first floor. Stop by and pick up some books. Here are a few selections:

In previous years, the League of Women Voters of Greater Haverhill has put up a Women’s History Month display in the library during March. Pictured is their 2020 display, focusing on the 100th anniversary of women’s suffrage in the United States. Visit their Facebook page for updates on their work.
