Transgender YA & now Adult author Edward Underhill will be joining the Boyden Library as part of their “Together With Pride” initiative, in partnership with other local Foxborough organizations to celebrate and support the community. He will discuss The In-Between Bookstore (Adult debut released in January 2025) and In Case You Read This (YA released in May 2025).

Level Up your summer with our kickoff event featuring mini-golf and video games provided by OneUp Games! 

Plus, stop by the Children’s Room to do some Super Mario Bros. related crafts and activities.

Outside, enjoy a shaved ice treat from Kona Ice from 11AM-1PM (while supplies last) and large-scale versions of games like Jenga, Four in a Row, and Tic-Tac-Toe on the Library’s lawn from 11:30AM-12:30PM.*

You can also start to sign up for our summer reading challenges. All ages welcome!

6/17 | 6-7:15 PM | History and Legends Through Song

Join us for a performance by the duo Sultana! Jon and Li Waterman weave history and original songs to feature a rotating array of real and legendary characters and happenings throughout history!

Some of the performance subjects include the earliest known author, Arthurian legend, the lost ancient libraries of Alexandria and Nalanda, an epic medieval battle, and the Old West. The show includes some Massachusetts history as well. The program is the second in the series “Live Music Making History Live.” Jon has presented the first show of the series “A Journey Through the Roots of American Popular Music” in libraries and other venues around the country, both in person and virtually.

Indian classical violinist Pranav Swaroop, collaborating with other South Asian artists from Greater Boston, will combine live music with conversation to inspire and educate the community. The music will spark curiosity about the region’s history, arts, and culture and encourage thoughtful dialogue on the power of music in bridging cultural divides and fostering a more inclusive society.

This program is supported in part by a grant from the Haverhill Cultural Council, which is supported by the Mass Cultural Council, a state agency.

Join the HPL Read Anything Club!

This group of anyone 18 or older will feature books across the literary spectrum – whatever genre piques your interest!

We will meet the 4th Saturday of each month. No registration necessary – you can simply pick up a book (limited copies, first come, first served) on the holds shelf in the front of the library.

Our June book will be The Book of 5 Rings by Miyamoto Musashi.

Learn how to “paint” a seasonal landscape with wool.  Use a barbed needle to attach colorful tufts of wool to the felt that’s stretched across an embroidery hoop.  Needle felting is relaxing and easier than it looks!  You’ll leave the class with the basic tools and knowledge to needle felt on your own.  Presented by the Pop Up Art School.
