Looking for your next book recommendation? Try NoveList Plus, a digital resource by EBSCO that’s available to HPL cardholders. It’s focused on reader’s advisory, and has a number of features that will help you find just the right read for you.
To get started, go to the Digital Resources page on the library’s website and click on the link to NoveList (use the “from home” link if you’re outside the library, and the “in-library access” one if you’re in the library. Once you’re in NoveList Plus, you can search for your favorite authors, books, or series to get suggestions of similar titles, authors, and series. You can refine searches with a variety of filters, including publication date, format, and intended audience. There’s even a natural-language search option, which uses AI to process searches written as questions or statements and provide results. NoveList Plus is connected to the library’s catalog, so you can always check to see if a book is available at HPL.
NoveList Plus has other features, including curated lists, genre guides, a number of indices (genres, media mentions, story elements, etc.), and more, all available to help you find the right books for you. It also has a handful of how-to pages to help you navigate the resource effectively. Of course, library staff are always willing to help, too!
