Has your child wanted to start the Harry Potter series but hasn’t gotten around to it yet? Or, are they a mega-fan who has read the series multiple times?
If the answer to either of those questions is yes, then they should join Megan in reading Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone by J.K. Rowling this month for book club! Read the book (but, if you don’t finish in time for our meeting, you’re still welcome to come!), and then join us for a discussion, some snacks, and a themed activity! Our meeting is Friday, December 29th at 1PM.
We have plenty of copies of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone set aside at the library for book club. Once you have registered, please stop by the library to borrow a copy of the book. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out!
Recommended for readers around ages 8-12 (grades 3-6) but this may vary depending on personal reading level.

“Harry Potter has no idea how famous he is. That’s because he’s being raised by his miserable aunt and uncle who are terrified Harry will learn that he’s really a wizard, just as his parents were. But everything changes when Harry is summoned to attend an infamous school for wizards, and he begins to discover some clues about his illustrious birthright. From the surprising way he is greeted by a lovable giant, to the unique curriculum and colorful faculty at his unusual school, Harry finds himself drawn deep inside a mystical world he never knew existed and closer to his own noble destiny.”
