Kid Librarian

Kids

Do you love reading? Want to share your favorite books with other kids and make new connections at the library? The Kid Librarian program is perfect for you! Each Kid Librarian gets a week to be the star of a special display at Haverhill Public Library.

Who Can Be a Kid Librarian? This program is open to anyone ages 6 – 12! You’ll choose books for a themed book display that will be set up in the Children’s Room for one week.

Before Your Week:

  • Think about what theme you want to display. Do you like stories about dinosaurs, magic, or princesses? Maybe facts about sports, reptiles, or ballerinas? Just have something in mind for when you get to the library to choose your books.

Right Before Your Week:

  • You’ll get an email reminding you to come to the Children’s Room in the library where your display will be set up. You’ll get to choose 5 to 10 books from the library’s children’s section (sorry, books from the YA/Teen section can’t be used for your display). Ask any librarian in the Children’s Room if you need help finding anything. If you already have your books selected, that’s even better!
  • Your display will be all set up!
  • We’ll also take your picture and feature you on our social media pages and on our kids’ web page.

Want to Be a Kid Librarian? If this sounds like something you’d love to do, just fill out this form to be a Kid Librarian! When we pick the Kid Librarians, we’ll send you an email from one of our youth librarians to let you know if you’re on the schedule and when your two weeks will be.
