About the Friends
The Friends of the Haverhill Public Library was founded in 1956. The Friend’s mission is to provide both financial and volunteer support to the Library. Each year the Friends are involved in fundraising and support Library activities, including: operating the Friends’ Shop, producing the Haverhill calendar, and providing cultural programs to the general public. Funds raised by the Friends have been used in the following ways: to purchase books, computers, printers, software, museum passes, and furnishings; to support the Adult Learning Center, as well as the George Washington statute renovation, and landscaping.
