About the Friends Shop
Local shoppers will find unique gifts, apparel, jewelry, and seasonal items in the Friends’ Shop at the Library. If you are a local history buff, we offer books, maps, and Haverhill collectibles. You can also find a variety of Haverhill and Bradford hats, t-shirts, and sweatshirts.
The Friends’ Shop was established in 1989 and is one of the oldest library shops in the country. We are staffed by volunteers who play an integral role in the success of our nonprofit Library Shop.
The Shop hours are published on all Friends’ pages of the website. We are operating in accordance with COVID-19 guidelines. Only four patrons are allowed in the Shop at one time. All customers and volunteers will be masked. Since the entrance to the Shop is inside the Library, please check-in at the front table before entering the Library.
We are always looking to recruit new volunteers. If you are interested, please contact the Library at 978-373-1586 ext. 601
Friends Calendar
In 1988 the Friends of the Haverhill Public Library published its fries calendar using noteworthy photographs from the Library’s Special collections. Each photograph is diligently researched and presented with an informative caption. Over the years, the calendar has recalled and highlighted people, places, events, and our city’s rich history.
