Owls Up Close on June 3: Programs for All Ages!

--Adult Events General

Saturday, June 3

10:30-11:15 am (younger audiences and families); 1:00-2:15pm (children ages 8+, teens, and adults)

Join Marcia and Mark Wilson from Eyes On Owls on Saturday, June 3 as they present their live owl program, “Owls Up Close.” It’s New England’s favorite wildlife program!

This unique presentation has been a library favorite for decades! For young audiences, the show starts with an interactive reading of a big book version of “Owl Babies.” Adult and older youth groups begin with a slide program that’s followed by the live owls. The magic begins when everybody sees each of 6 live owls up close, as they perch safely on Marcia’s glove near the audience. Everyone gets to practice the owls’ calls during lively hooting lessons! The Wilsons highlight the owls’ unique adaptations, habitats and behaviors in the wild, while sharing tips on how you can find signs of owls around you. Questions are taken once the owls come out.

Attendees may purchase copies of Mark’s award-winning book, Owling, and The Snowy Owl Scientist, signed and personalized by the author, in person after the program or by emailing eyesonowls@earthlink.net. Each book is available for $20, cash or credit.

This program has two sessions. The 10:30am session is for children under the age of 8 and families. The 1:00pm session is for adults, teens, and children ages 8+.
