 Now is the perfect time to join a nice group of “Friends”

 Membership starts at:
$5 per year for students and seniors,
$10 for individuals & $25 for families

Drop in to pick up a Membership Application or info, or
print out the Friends Membership Application online and return it to the library.

Who Are The Friends?

Founded in 1956, The Friends currently number more than 300 members who are dedicated to supporting and developing the Haverhill Public Library. The Friends welcome all those who value the role the library can play in enriching the lives of everyone in the community, young and old, and who believe that a public library is worth supporting.
 

What Do The Friends do?
The Friends provide gifts to the library which are purchased through fundraising activities such as Book Sales. We also provide volunteer support, host cultural events, and operate the
Friends Gift Shop. All members receive an informative newsletter twice a year.

In the past few years The Friends have raised money for:


Marilyn Goldberg and Noreen Grady assist Mike Chase at  Book Sale

  • computers, printers and software
  • microfilm reader printers
  • children's room materials
  • museum passes
  • furnishings and more

How do The Friends raise money?
The Friends raise money through activities such as
Friends Gift Shop sales, Book sales, yard sales, calendar sales,  and our membership drive. In the past, The Friends have:

  • offered house tours
  • sponsored a lecture on antique books
  • hosted a classical guitar concert
  • sponsored a travelogue series
  • hosted fashion shows
