What to Do at the Haverhill Public Library
Children's Department

Children's Calendar

This summer we will be building a tree, where every child who has signed up for the Summer Reading Adventure gets to add another leaf for every 2 hours or 4 books they read! There will be prizes, and lots of fun programs.

We will be participating in a program sponsored by ALA (the American Library Association) called "Step Up to the Plate!" This program offers kids an opportunity to be entered in a chance to win a trip to the National Baseball Hall of Fame! We have handouts available in the Children's Room. There are 2 different sets of questions - one for kids ages 11-13, and another for kids 10 and under. Using your library skills and materials, answer one of the questions in each section (1st base, 2nd base, 3rd base and Home Plate) and you will be in the competition!

The Step Up to the Plate @ your library program was developed by the American Library Association and the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum.

Plan to come to the library on Saturday, June 26th between 11 a.m. and noon, and sign up for this year's Summer Reading Adventure! and meet Wally, the Green Monster from Fenway Park!!

We will be adding the Summer Reading List links to this page when we get them. Right now we have:

Link to Sacred Heart's webpage and their Summer Reading Lists
